Butternut Squash & Goats Cheese Tagliatelle

My love of butternut squash, sage and goats cheese resulted in me making up this little recipe.

Chop up butternut squash in to 1cm thick chunks, put in a roasting tin with whole garlic cloves, chopped sage, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Roast on gas mark 6 for 40 mins

Mix in with cooked tagliatelle and chopped goats cheese. Drizzle with walnut oil and season.

Car Boot Bargains

After finishing helping out my friend Sarah on her car boot stall last Sunday morning, I decided to have a little browse around to see if I could find any goodies to treat myself too... and I did.

Best in Show

Whilst compiling the recycling this morning I came across the local paper and thought I'd just flick through to see what was going on in Milton Keynes this weekend and came across a cat show that was being held at a local college leisure centre. As I was meeting up with my friend Cathy this afternoon for a catch up, I thought I'd ask her if she fancied coming along with me to check it out.

Having never been to such an event I had no idea what to expect... the event did not disappoint. Not sure what I enjoyed more the cats or their owners!!!

Heartlands Love Bout

On Saturday we competed our second game in the Heartlands Series, East Division at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Hall Cambridge. The Rebels were up against the Hell's Belles. We only had nine girls on our team up against a full 14 girl in the Belles. It was a tough and tiring game but we worked hard, played as a tight team and were thrilled with our 214-110 win.

Introducing Heather

Here is Heather my adopted Pine Martin, she's a bit like a ferret by fluffier. She was very lively and didn't hang about long so capturing a photo of her was rather challenging.

Shepreth Wildlife park

Today my lovely boyfriend took me to Shepreth Wildlife Park to visit my adopted deer Dancer which he bought me for Christmas. Sadly the deers had been moved on Thursday, due to construction work... bad timing, but I got to adopt another animal and I chose a little Pine Martin called Heather who was very lively and entertaining to watch.

It's a great little wildlife park well worth a visit.

Mini Fruit Tarts

Look at these lovely little tarts covered in blueberries and raspberries.

To make the cream filling whisk 4 egg yolks with 100g caster sugar until pale and think. Then sift in 25g plain flour and whisk well.

In a separate pan bring to the boil 350ml milk and a vanilla pod. Stir the milk into the egg mixture and mix well. Then return the mixture to the saucepan and whisk on a low heat until the mixture thicken and comes to the boil. Put mixture in a piping bag and chill in the fridge. When chilled pipe mixture into the pasty cases and cover in your favourite berries.
