FujiFilm Instax 210

Apologies for being a little quiet recently, it's been my birthday and I do take my birthday celebrations seriously.

One of the best things about birthdays, apart from celebrating with groups friends, is all the lovely gifts!! My favourite gift this year (from my lovely boyfriend) Fujifilm Instax 210... a great feature of this camera is a little clip on lens for self portraits which not only allows you to shoot really close up but has a little mirror so you make sure you're in frame! LOVE IT!

Tears

The photographic word challenge this fortnight was the word tears.  As usual with these challenges, I like to push myself further by always shooting the word as self portrait. With this portrait I wanted to evoke emotion and represent tears without actually showing any.

What Katie Ate

On Thursday a cookbook that I have been waiting for, for what feels like forever arrived. I decided to save it until the weekend before sitting down to look though it so I could really enjoy it... it was so worth the wait. Absolutely beautiful, the food styling is inspirational and the book design, also by Katie is gorgeous too. Really happy to have it as part of my beautiful cookbook collection.

Word challenge of the fortnight was 'juxtaposed', as usual I interpreted it with as self portrait, see below :D

Self Portrait

Every two weeks my colleagues and I participate in a photographic challenge... we pick a word and use it as a photographic brief. It can be interpreted anyway you like. The last two words that were picked out were Gluttony and Balls, I decided to do a self portrait for both.

Usually Sunday afternoons are all about roller derby, but since it's a summer bank holiday we were given the day off, so I thought I'd use my time wisely and get to work in my garden. Over the last couple of weeks I've been gathering a few pieces to add a little character to my garden. The pots are a mix of charity shops purchases, hand-me-downs and a couple of sale pots from garden centres where I also picked and the crate. The little bird house/feeder I found in a sale for only a pound as was the trellis... bargain garden make over!

Self Portrait... Girl With Cat

I really do enjoy shooting self portraits, previously they've all been a bit more snappy and less thought through than this one. In fact this wasn't meant to be the final shot, this was me setting up the test shot, I had planned to get dressed and put my make up on, however when I looked back at this shot I really love it.
