Oklahoma, Manchester

We stopped for lunch in Oklahoma, which is a fabulous quirky Vegetarian & Vegan cafe serving the yummiest freshly made food. And not only is is a cafe but it is also a great kitsch gift shops. They had cabinets full of unusual and handmade jewellery, greeting cards, tin wind-up toys... too many things to list. Oh how I wish it was nearer, I'd be in there all the time!

Affleck's Palace

This Saturday I took a trip to Manchester to visit my good friend Amanda, who is more of a big sister to me, to celebrate her birthday. She met me at the train station and took me around some of her favourite places to shop and eat, we then finished off the day with cocktails... it was such a great weekend.

One of the places we went to was Affleck's Palace, which is a large indoor market situated in a 4 story building. They describe themselves as an emporium of eclecticism, a totem of indie commerce and a great place to shop for anything from a top hat to a tattoo. I loved it. One of the things I loved about it the most was the art on the walls on the building... great stuff.

Plymouth

Whilst trying to find shelter from the rain we stumbled across the most interesting and lovely coffee shop... Molly's Coffee Shop. It was full of interesting things to look at on the walls and lovely old fashioned chairs to sit in and yummy homemade scones. Also in the coffee shop was the best bookshop ever, full from wall to wall and floor to ceiling with books... stacks and stacks and rows and rows of them. Upstairs from the coffee shop was an antique shop and out the back were two curiosity and collectors shops... just my cup of tea.
